At our composting facility, we use a process called Windrow Composting to turn the sourced-separated organics collected from your facility into nutrient-rich compost. After the organics are transported to our 25-acre farm, we combine them with a bulking agent, mainly wood chips, and form them into long piles, or windrows.
These windrows are then exposed to the air and kept at specific temperatures, ensuring that harmful greenhouse gases are not produced, unlike if they were sent to a landfill.
Regularly turning the windrows helps to provide the necessary oxygen throughout the composting process. We continuously monitor the air, light, temperature, and moisture to ensure the material breaks down efficiently and effectively. This process produces high-quality organic material that can be used to fertilize farms and gardens.
Once the compost is ready, we use a strainer to remove any materials that did not break down, such as woodchips and rocks, or any foreign material. Windrow Composting is a simple and efficient process that allows us to use natural elements and our environment to create something environmentally sustainable and useful.
We would like to thank you for helping us in our effort to create something that is good for the environment, useful, and sustainable. By choosing to compost your organic waste, you are taking an important step towards reducing waste and contributing to a healthier planet.
